A Bride’s Experience in the Midst of a Covid World

Recovering from a Crazy Year

Nothing could have prepared people for the impact of the pandemic. We’re sure you all felt, just as we did the ache and longing of being together, especially during seasons of celebration. Thankfully, we find ourselves moving towards a more hopeful and normal tomorrow. So to you, future bride and groom, as you plan, we hope the account of this couple sends a little encouragement and inspiration your way!

The Couple

Laura and Logan were married at the estate on August 23, 2020, after postponing their original May 16th wedding date. Everything about their day could not have been more perfect. Find amazing ideas from this natural and earthy styled wedding and first hand accounts from Laura as she graciously shares about her experience.

The Setting

“Kennedy Estate (The Barn at Kennedy Farm) was the first, and only wedding venue that my husband and I went to look at. As soon as we saw the venue, we knew it was the one! The outside of the barn was breathtaking, with beautiful rolling, green grass and mature, full trees. Then we saw the inside, with spacious room for dancing and seating, beautiful views of the grounds, opened windows that allowed in a nice breeze, all topped with a gorgeous chandelier hanging above. That was that!”

The Pandemic

With the uncertainties of weekly restrictions, this couple along with many others wrestled through the decision early on of whether or not to postpone. Our chief goal as a company is to ensure all of our couples are free to celebrate effortlessly. But Covid posed the greatest of threats to our service. It’s humbling to hear from a couple who, even in the midst of all opposition, felt so supported and equipped to carry out their vision.

“My experience with the barn’s staff was nothing but supportive and understanding. As soon as we decided to reschedule, they sprung into action... What I was most impressed by is how informed the staff kept us in regards to the pandemic and what this would mean for our big day. We were provided with updates about the CDC guidelines and what the barn was doing to ensure they were staying within these guidelines to keep our friends and family safe.”

The Decor

Trust us, we get how overwhelming these choices can be! The biggest categories to highlight always come down to your entryway, seating chart, table centerpieces, and dessert station. See how Laura and Logan added personal elements and organization to our decor for the flow of the whole day, with a few helpful tips and tricks from us!

“Our wedding day was absolutely perfect—it was exactly as we had imagined, and we owe so much to the Barn and the staff for this!  They helped make our day stress free and seamless, as we all hope it will be.”  - Laura Strem
